20 Percent Pay Hike At MRCA Disappears From Agenda

The MRCA Board of Directors mets today … b ut the proposed 20 percent pay hike for certain employees was yanked form the agenda.

That’s the Mountain Recreation Conservation Authority … the government group that is making life difficult for so many of your neighbors.

The plans for the meeting were changed three times in the past few days.

A 20 percent pay hike for certain … undisclosed MRCA employees has disappeared from the latest versions of the agenda.

Malibu city council members have opposed the pay hike … and MRCA director Joe Edmiston reacted in a huff.

He said the pay hike was necessary to consolidate different pay levels being paid to seasonal firefighters.

Nothing suspicious

But that’s not what was on the agenda.

The actual motion also apparently included a pay change for the M R C A chief of staff.

Not clear how much of a pay hike … or who exactly the chief of staff is.

Joe Edmiston is the executive director … it was not clear on the agenda if “chief of staff” applied to him.

But the latest … third agenda has the salary issue dropped.
