Hundreds Of Tanks Move Ashore At Port Hueneme, But Head Into Desert For Storage

Both the United States Navy and the Ventura County sheriff are swatting down rumors about a column of Army tanks that moved thru Southern California this week.
About 300 large army tanks were seen on flatbed Railroad cars.
Yesterday naval base Ventura County released their own photo of the large tanks being marshaled through the Port Hueneme railyard.
Mayor Eric Garcetti addressed the movement during his Wednesday evening briefing.
He says the National Guard has -not- been deployed in Los Angeles yet.

“If and when National Guard or military units are deployed to the streets of L-A … trust me … I will let you know.
“So all the texts and ll the rumors?
“Discount them.
“I will let you know … right here … when there are folks coming to service on our streets from both the National Guard and the military reserve.”
The L A Mayor told Angelenos that the tanks were being moved thru L A as regular military operations.
But the sight of 300 tanks inching on a train thru Oxnard. .. and then moving through the LA Basin en route to a military depot near Barstow … generated TV coverage and internet memes.
Navy Base Ventura County … at Port Hueneme … the Ventura County sheriff …and the mayor of Los Angeles all emphasized this was not because of COVID 19.

“Ive heard from folks who have seen military vehicles and activity around the city, and at this time the National Guard has not been mobilized for the city of Los Angeles.
“They have armories, they travel through Los Angeles, but officially have not been mobilized.
“There are movements of troops all around our state, and to support our efforts, we have asked the governor for National Guard support for our testing sites.
“And we anticipate asking for medical units and supplies from the military reserve to accommodate hospital overflow and other patient care planning.”
Garcetti said he would be sure to let the city know if or when the National Guard was deployed to the streets of Los Angeles.
