Air BandB Reacts To 17 Killed At Various Air BandB Party Houses

At least 42 people have been shot inside or just outside short-term rental properties across the United States over the past six months — and 17 have died, according to police and news reports.

The tally by the San Francisco Chronicle includes at least 23 shooting incidents in 12 states, including California, since May.

This comes as the overnight rental giant Air B and B is under intense pressure to stop renting out party houses … like the ones that have been scenes of murders .. near-riots and numerous loud noise complaints … all across the county.

Airbnb officials say the home-sharing company will implement a sweeping verification system of all 7 million of its listings … following the Halloween night shooting at a rental house in the San Francisco Bay Area that left five people dead.

The company will also set up a hotline in the U.S. by the end of the year … with a team to soothe over neighbors’ concerns.

And it will also assign employees to look at Air BandB reservations that their computer flags as potentially risky.

Malibu Road resident Michael Lustig is quoted in today’s San Francisco newspaper… complaining that there is no macro-level perspective on how widespread violent rental house parties have become nationwide.

Lustig tells the Chronicle “the reason (for that) is Airbnb has controlled the conversation … We have to start challenging that and asking deeper questions.”
