Some sad anniversaries are coming up.
Of course … the Woolsey Fire is nearing the one year mark.
And the worst mass shooting in the Malibu area ever … happened November 7th of last year.
It was the Borderline Bar shooting in Thousand Oaks.
One student from Pepperdine was killed.
The Borderline had deep roots in malibu … it had relocated from Trancas.
Thousand Oaks Mayor Rob McCoy has announced that the Borderline “Healing Garden” memorial will be formally dedicated on the Nov. 7 anniversary.
The public is invited to the event.
Earlier that morning … there will be private services for survivors of the 12 murder victims … plus the 248 survivors who scrambled out.
The afternoon ceremony will be at the Lakeside Pavilion at Conejo Creek North park … on Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.
Park gates will open at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday the seventh.
The ceremony will begin at 3:15 p.m.
There will be shuttle bus service provided from the big parking lot at Lakeside Pavilion.
