50 MPH Santa Anas Forecast Wed Night, And SCE Warns It Might Intentionally Black Out Cuthbert For 3rd Time

An unpleasant and perhaps dangerous Christmas present coming from Southern California Edison.
The power company warns that it may turn off the power … to the Cuthbert circuit … Wednesday and Thursday.
Winds are coming.
Forecasts right now are for Red Flag Warning level winds to arrive at about midnight Wednesday night.
Peak winds are forecast for about 50 miles per hour.
The winds should arrive late Wednesday night and blow out by about sunrise Thursday morning.
The Cuthbert circuit includes most of Point Dume .. Paradise Cove … Latigo Beach … and the foothills and canyons in and near Ramirez and Escondido Canyons.
Also … Malibu Canyon has been added to the blackout warning list this time.
The intentional blackout warning period starts at 3 A-M Wednesday … it covers 18 hours until 3 in the afternoon Thursday … Christmas Eve.
And while most of Malibu is not in the blackout warning zone … it includes the Cuthbert Circuit … where two intentional power outages have already been implemented during moderate Santa Ana wind blows.
Edison has been unable to come up with any explanation for why that particular area keeps getting blacked out … plus warnings that it will get blacked out.
Cuthbert has been intentionally blacked out twice this fall by Edison … it is the only part of Malibu to get such treatment.
Southern California Edison has been unable to provide a reason for the frequent blackouts there …. or the frequent blackout warnings on Cuthbert.
And speaking of warnings … the Edison company’s error plagued blackout warning system has gone off in error again.
The company alerted customers in the middle of the night that intentional blackout warnings had just been cancelled in Malibu.
But no such warnings had gone out.
