The Malibu Times is reporting that four Malibu residents are running for the two city council seats open this fall.
Lou La Monte and Laura Rosenthal are terming out … they cannot run after having served two terms.
School district activist Karen Farrer and former Malibu Times reporter and editor Olivia Damavandi Ayreh have told KBUU News they will run.
Also … according to the Malibu Times … Public Works Commissioner Jim Palmer and Planning Commissioner Mikke Pierson are lining up for the race.
Petitions to run for city council will need only about 30 names on them.
The city election is held concurrent to the November general election.
