3 Fires Scorch Spots In SM Mountains During Saddleridge Fire

While the skies were filled with smoke in Malibu … last week … all eyes were on the Saddleridge Fire …
But three fires broke out in the Santa Monica Mountains that Thursday.
All three of them … not connected … but all three … under investigation.
One fire burned about a quarter of an acre … in dry grass … just north of Mulholland Highway and west of Las Virgenes Road.
At the fire … L A County fire Captain Andrew Smith said this one was not linked to the other two.

“Yeah this is just a coincidental fire
“They are all working on a determination – this are is closed to the public.
“So were working on a determination on that.
“Doesn’t look like this is anything malicious at this point in time … it’s just in a very unique spot.
“So we have a very robust work force out in the Santa Monica Mountains and actually all of Los Angeles County today … providing protection with our ground resources and air resources.”
All three fires were put out before helicopters could arrive.
