153 Fire-Roasted, Mud-Caked, Flood-Soaked Sharks Emerge In Malibu Sun

Malibu High School sent 153 high school seniors into the world yesterday.
That’s a 100 percent graduation rate this year … a remarkable feat said principal Chelli Nye … given the fire and the challenge of missing a huge chunk of the school year due to closures.
152 seniors crossed the stage.
One of them … Milo Sposato … picked up two diplomas … one for his brother Julian Sposato … who was injured in a car crash.
His greeting won a round of applause.
As normal … two sheriffs deputies walked the crowd on the football field.
Earlier in the day … the principal alerted parents that there had been a threat of violence … a threat that was investigated by the sheriff’s office and found not to be credible.
Some parents criticized the school for not warning about the threat until after parents had already sent their kids off to school for finals and the graduation ceremony.
Other parents said it was a big deal about nothing.
Malibu Middle School 8th graders will graduate this morning … with a ceremony at the school’s amphitheater.
