Pacific Palisades 32.
And Santa Monica … 98.

Malibu beaches are closed … surfers are being shooed out of the water … no walking in the sand.
In the Zuma Beach parking lot … joggers … bicyclists and people walking … solo or with their loved ones … every day.
Word is that the lifeguards and deputies will not hassle pedestrians in the parking lot or on the concrete walkway … but the sand and water is off limits.
People who live along the ocean … or who have a key to the Little Dume Beach trails … apparently are able to walk on the ocean unchallenged.
There simply are not enough sheriffs deputies to keep all the beaches closed.
Up the coast … in Ventura County … hundreds of beachgoers are ignoring the signs.
The L A Times reports this morning that enforcement of beach closures In Ventura County is spotty.
The Times reports that large numbers of people are you using the ocean at Point Mugu State Park, where they boogie-boarded, swam and surfed.
The park is closed and no parking signs are up.
Both restrictions being ignored.
The pocket beaches between County Line and Point Mugu had 30 to 50 people observed on them … most apparently practicing social distancing.
One mom told the L A Times reporter … “The kids haven’t been out in almost a month and they needed a break,” said Sadler.
Contrast that to Malibu … where sheriff’s deputies and volunteers on patrol keep beaches empty.
And the L A Times notes that most visitors to the Malibu beaches wore some sort of facial covering — a departure from the majority of people who ventured onto the Point Mugu State Park beaches.
