Looks like Nobu is going to get some competition in the high-end big ticket eating market.

The website Food and Wine reports that a tiny twelve-seat food and drink experience is about to be opened in part of the old Beaurivage restaurant … at latigo beach.

Matthew Biancaniello is a Los Angeles cocktail chef … famous for putting food into alcohol.

Think alcoholic oysters, snail beer, and goose barnacles … says Food and Wine.

He’s plannign to open a 12-seat restaurant bar called Mon Li …

On the menu … well … that it is still under development.

Biancaniello is famous for pairing food with cocktails in unusual ways, and often in the same glass.

Chef Ricardo Morales from Calamigos will also be helping out with the project.

As for price … expect something in the $125 to $175 range.

As for the rest of the old Beaurivage property … Calamigos Ranch appears to be reopening the old Restaurant … as the Calamigos Beach Club this summer.
